
This travel insurance site was created by a Type 1 Diabetic with a passion for travel! My name is Ross and over the past 7 years I’ve lived in, worked or visited 23 countries. All the time managing my diabetes, its been a great experience and I’m pleased to say, one without any mishaps.
As we both know diabetes is a manageable condition which shouldn’t stop you living a full and exciting life. But its also true to say that no matter how tightly managed your diabetes is, we all have those days when we’re up and down for no apparent reason. Irrespective of whether you are Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetic. Therefore if you’re heading overseas, especially if you’re travelling alone or somewhere exotic, a good travel insurance for diabetes is a must, which is why this site was created.
Like most pre-existing conditions, there are laws and regulations to protect diabetics; discrimination in the workplace being a good example. Even outside of office hours you’re entitled to your own privacy and are not obliged to declare your diabetes in the majority of situations, except one. travel insurance, yes if you’re planning a trip outside of your home country, you need your diabetes to be covered. If its not, your travel insurance could be invalid!. Even with an EHIC, its advisable to get additional diabetes travel insurance, this comes from the UK government. But don’t worry, we’ve made the process easy and as cheap as possible!
Diabetes is a pre-existing medical condition, whether its Type 1 diabetes or Type 2 diabetes, they both come under this banner and as such need to be declared when purchasing travel insurance.
